Doofus Of The Day #737

Today's award goes to a tow truck driver in England.

I presume the person heard on the video was the owner of the car. She seemed a trifle upset . . .

That would be me, if I were a tower. I have no clue how to prevent that. What should the tower have done?

Shouldn't have flipped her car in the first place then...lol@women drivers.

Hee!

Wayne--had the car been IN GEAR and/or had it's parking brake set that would not likely have happened.

Canada, rather than the UK I think - the UK does not use double yellow lines as lane dividers, and the accent has a hint of North American continent over English.
Also the numberplate is not UK standard, and the car is Left hand drive...
Shall I shut up now.....? The Mrs says I should shut up & let the wine wear off before I get banned for being "picky"....
Regards,
Bryn.

@Murphy's, I figured that. But how do you safely do that when the car is sitting on its side?

You climb into the vehicle and set the parking brake. If you can't access the interior, laying one or more of the 4x4 lengths of lumber to trap the tires would suffice.

The problem illustrated here is that the chains used are open hook type. This is so the hook can grab a single link, instead of sliding to the end of the chain being hooked to.

In this case, it appears the wheel to wheel chain, that he had the cable attached to, came unhooked when the car bounced. Happens a lot.
Did this ever happen to me? You bet, but without the spectacular result :D

It tends to be easier to reach the controls when they are on their roof.

I developed a preference for running a chain to the truck, instead of using the winch. For various reasons, that sort of setup tended to stay connected. Much faster, too.
