The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - are real???

The Austrian Times reports:

Mutant turtles are plaguing China amid a religious craze for setting them free into the wild.

Buddhist followers believe that by releasing a turtle into a stream they can increase their own chances of successful reincarnation.

But officials have been flooded with the bizarre results of the turtles breeding in China's notoriously polluted waterways, like this freakish white turtle released from one temple.

And they fear the trend will get even worse when young people join in thanks to the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtle film.

Yup . . . that looks mutated to me all right!
