A different look at our forces in Afghanistan

Rapport Press has published a series of photographs titled 'Patrols In The Korengal'. They show the conditions under which some of our troops have to live and fight in Afghanistan. They should be required viewing for all those who speak so casually about our people over there. Perhaps they'd appreciate their sacrifice more.

Due to copyright restrictions, I can only show you a very small sample of the pictures, to whet your appetite for the main course ('fair use' permits that).

Great work by the photographer - and a reminder that our troops over there aren't lounging around in comfortable barracks, with three cooked meals a day and hot and cold running water! I urge you to click over to 'Patrols In The Korengal' and look through all the photographs in the series. While you're there, check out the other galleries at Rapport Press as well. There's some interesting collections.

Speaking as someone with a)one nephew on his second tour of Afghanistan with the 82nd Airborne; b)another nephew, a Marine ssgt., in Iraq as an EOD specialist; and c)a VERY long and extensive family history of military service; I assure you I take anything to do with our troops very, very personally.
