Daddybear, friend to Miss D. and myself in both meatspace and cyberspace, has joined the ranks of bloggers who've published books. His first effort is 'Tales of the Minivandians', which is a compilation of some of the 'Minivandian' stories from his blog and new material in the same vein.
He describes it thus:
The Minivandian is the warrior who values his home and hearth. He goes through the mundane day to day things with an eye to the adventures that they contain. She is the barbarian queen who fights the monsters of everyday tasks. These are their stories.
Knowing Tom as I do, I can assure you he speaks and writes with a wry sense of self-deprecating humor. Basically, he describes the events of everyday life using the terminology of ancient heroic fantasy, and does it very well, IMHO. I'm looking forward to reading this book, and I recommend it to you as well. If you'd like a taste of what it contains, here's one of his Minivandian stories: 'The Lady of Eire and The Thing From The Drain'. Enjoy!
Congratulations, Tom. Let's have another one!
Peter
