I'm trying to decide whether this would be fun, or wrench my back so far out of whack that I'd need medical care when I finally came to a standstill!
Of course, if the line broke halfway through the first stroke, I daresay I'd set a new rubber-band-powered distance record!

I think it must be fun for people who like carnival rides and such. I don't do those whatsoever, myself. I do think it could definitely wrench a weak/injured back, I wouldn't do it even pretending I wanted to, which I wouldn't in a million years.
What I don't understand is how the person doesn't just get flung right out of the seat there. And I'd be terrified of the rubber bands breaking.

If you look closely at that last frame, it appears that one of the two rubber bands DID break! The video ended about 30 seconds too soon. Then we'd probably see the girl plow into the ground.
Crucis, I saw that: but I think it was the strap used by the guys on the ATV to haul her up to the house before letting go. I think the bands to each pole were still intact.
I'll stick with flying jets off the carrier... it's safer!
