Doofus Of The Day #411

Today's Doofus comes from Los Angeles, California.

A man driving home saw a masked man with a shotgun waiting for him and ran him over with his vehicle, a sheriff's lieutenant said today.

The alleged gunman who was run over was hospitalized in stable condition before being booked, and the driver was considered a victim and was not arrested, Lt. Tim Carr of the sheriff's East Los Angeles Station said. It occurred at about 8 p.m. Wednesday on Nevada Avenue south of Michigan Avenue in East Los Angeles.

"The victim drove into his driveway and saw the suspect pointing a shotgun at him," Carr said. "The victim fearing for his safety accelerated his vehicle striking the suspect. After the collision, the suspect was pinned under the vehicle."

The driver's sport utility vehicle went up on a sidewalk, through a fence and ended up in a yard with the alleged gunman underneath the vehicle, witnesses told a news video cameraman.

Hint to wannabe gang-banger thug-type citizens: a motor vehicle (any four-wheeled or larger motor vehicle) packs a hell of a lot more kinetic energy than the bullets in your gun! It behooves you, for the sake of your future career, to attempt your crimes from a location where the driver can't point it at you and floor the throttle!

Sounds like the wanna-be-bad dude saw one too many action movies."Yeah, you point the gun at the big vehicle and it blows up and the guy's wallet, iPhone and GPS come flying out. It always happens that way!"
What a maroon. (With all due apologies to any living Maroons.)

...And here people whine and moan about other people owning firearms, when a motor vehicle is (QED) a very effective weapon given such intent.
