Time change tonight

Just a quick reminder to any of my US readers who may have forgotten - daylight saving time takes effect tonight.  Clocks advance one hour, so we'll lose an hour's sleep, I'm afraid;  but we get it back in November, when the clocks go back an hour.

Personally, I wish they'd just make a half-hour adjustment, then leave the clocks alone forever - but that would be too simple for the bureaucrats who calculate these things, I guess . . .

There is at least one country that is 1/2 hour off the standard zone for their location, so that they won't be on the same time as $hated_neighbor.

Since I've been pastoring, I don't set my clock back in the spring until after church. Made all the difference to me. I lose an hour in the afternoon, but it seems to make the transition easier. Must be a mental thing.... Or I'm just a rebel!

Arizona doesn't bother with Daylight Savings Time, the one state out of 50 that doesn't reset clocks. We have all the daylight we could ever want, no need to save any.

If you're not convinced that Daylight Savings Time is a scam, ask yourself: Who's pocketing all the interest on that daylight we're saving? Some banker somewhere is sitting on a pile of daylight.

As someone who has been in the IT world for 25+ years, I wish we'd abolish DST completely.
