Amazing underwater photography!
Photographer Doug Perrine is a former winner of the British Natural History Museum's Wildlife Photographer of the Year award.
A series of his recent photographs, showing a bait ball of sardines off the West Coast of the USA being attacked by a Bryde's whale, a striped marlin and two sea lions, has just been published in the Daily Mail. Here's just one of the images, to whet your appetite (it's been reduced in size to fit this blog).
Amazing picture, isn't it? Apparently Mr. Perrine was twice struck by the whale as he took the pictures, so close did he come.
There are more (and much larger) images at the link. Highly recommended viewing.
