As Lawdog would say - *Gigglesnort!*

At the e-mailed suggestion of a reader, I took a quick look at the Amazon.com listing for Nancy Pelosi's new book.

The "Tags Customers Associate With This Product" page is highly interesting. Click the image for a larger view.

It also seems that someone at Amazon is trying to sugar-coat the bitter pill. A discussion on their forums alleges that Amazon has "disappeared" over 200 negative reviews of the book, and arbitrarily boosted its average customer rating from one star to two.

As I've said before, I'm not a party political animal. I vote for the individual, not for his or her party, and choose the person who best represents my ideals and values. However, I believe that Ms. Pelosi's gargantuan insensitivity and partisanship are a grave disservice, both to the US nation and to the office she holds. I think more and more people are realizing this, and it's reflected in the ratings and comments above. Nice to see reality taking hold.

I'd also like to know whether Amazon really has tried to "massage" the reviews, tags, etc for Pelosi's book. If they have, it's deliberate manipulation at best, and partisan political positioning at worst. One has a right to expect better of a corporation that's supposed to be commercial, rather than political. I hope Amazon will clarify the situation, and deny any false reports.
