History on the wing!

Here's a great video, courtesy of Flight Global, showing one of the Boeing 787 prototypes leaving the Farnborough Air Show in England today, escorted by two World War II-vintage Spitfire fighters. I highly recommend watching it in full-screen mode.

Great images - and the size of the 787 in comparison to the relatively tiny, sleek fighter aircraft is very apparent. It's enough to make any aviation enthusiast smile!

It flies... and it was designed and tested TOTALLY on a computer... sigh...

I also noticed its rate-of-climb was quite good. I wonder how it'd compare climbing with the Spits.

Crucis - I reckon it would leave the Spitfires standing, at least light on fuel and free of baggage (regular and self-loading).
