Meeting the Christmas consumer demand
The Daily Mail has published two articles on gigantic warehouses stuffed full of Christmas goods to meet shopping demand in England. I'm sure there are many such warehouses in this country as well. The pictures are daunting, to say the least . . .
Here's the Amazon.com warehouse in England:
And here's a liquor warehouse belonging to a firm named Constellation Park:
It apparently contains 36 million bottles of wine, and can store 9.5 million gallons (enough to fill 15 Olympic-size swimming pools).
There's more information at the respective links, including more photographs. Worth a read if you want to know what a consumer Christmas looks like, and the amount of work involved in supplying what we order.
