The lighter side of UFO's

The inimitable Dr. Neil Tyson, Director of the Hayden Planetarium at the American Museum of Natural History in Manhattan, answers a question about UFO's in his usual dead-pan, but scientifically hilarious way.

Great stuff! I wish we had more scientists like Dr. Tyson. He makes science fun!

So true, hehe.

He's sure an excellent student of human nature.

This is wonderful! I have to find more, and maybe show my students. Thanks!

He raises THE biggest problem I have with the UFO community: "Look, a UFO! I wonder what the aliens are doing?"

Sorry Cupcake: if you know there are people in it, then you know what it is: kinda defeats the "U" in there, don't it?

Do I believe in UFOs? Yep: there are LOTS of things seen in the sky that the observer can't identify. Alien spacecraft? Different ballgame...

I bet George Noory and Art Bell will NOT have Dr. Tyson on their show at any time. That would stop coast to coast from ever broadcasting anything ever again.
Every time I watch cspan, I see a lot of ufos.

Excellent. Somebody needs to shove an alien ashtray up their butt (pocket slightly unrealistic for sex experiments), then we'll really have something. Maybe everyone will lay off the human smokers if we find out it's a sign of a super-advanced society. Now I'm going to go read some Brain Failures and smoke a cigarette...

Wonderful. I think Dr. Tyson is the only person who could take nine minutes to answer that question and be entertaining in the doing.
